* Please direct any questions about the features of
your e-mail service to your e-mail provider.
Step 1: Register
Your Wireless Device
To forward notification of incoming e-mail messages
from your MSN Hotmail account you must first register
your wireless device with MSN Mobile. This is a free
service provided by MSN.
- From your MSN Hotmail "Inbox" go to the "Options"
section and click on "Hotmail Alerts" and click on
the link to the MSN Mobile Page. You can also go directly
to MSN Mobile at mobile.MSN.com.
- From the MSN Mobile page, follow the directions
to sign up for MSN Mobile.
- Once you have registered for MSN Mobile return
to the MSN Hotmail "Options" section.
Step 2: Define
Messages to Forward
- From your MSN Hotmail "Inbox" go to the "Options"
section and click on "Hotmail Alerts".
- On the "Hotmail Alerts" page select "Page me only
if the e-mail fits any of the following criteria"
if you only want to be notified when an incoming e-mail
meet the filter criteria or "Page me anytime I receive
an e-mail" to be notified whenever you have a new
e-mail.
- Enter a "rule" to identify which messages to notify
you of when new messages are received. Be sure to
check the "Enabled" box, otherwise the rule will be
ignored.
- When you have entered rules for any e-mails you
want to be notified of, click on the "OK" button at
the bottom of the page.
- The wireless device you set up in MSN Mobile will
now receive notification when you receive incoming
messages meeting your criteria.
Step 3: Finalize
New Rule
- Click the "Save" button to save the filter settings
you created. The new filter will now appear on the "Filters"
page
