By pressing the yellow "lock" button and then pressing the key with the appropriate yellow digit.

How do I send an e-mail message to my Arch Webster 100 device?
Sending an e-mail message to the Webster 100 2-way device can be done by having the sender address the message to:

  • 10-digitPhoneNumber@archwireless.net if you have a Local or Personal Toll-Free Number
  • PIN@archwireless.net if you are using the 800-946-4646 with PIN number option
  • PreferredAlias@arch.net if you have Arch Message Center associated with your device.

Do I have to keep clicking the alt key every time I want to add punctuation or if I want to use any type of symbols?
To lock on to type successive numbers, press the yellow "lock" key two consecutive times, to lock on to type successive capital letters press the "Lock/CAPS" key two successive times.

What is the difference between a wireless address and an e-mail address?
The e-mail address is the person's actual e-mail address, a wireless address allows for the user to enter a second e-mail address for that contact which in most cases would be another wireless device like 1234567890@messagingcompany.com.

Is there a way of getting my desktop address book transferred to my device?
Your desktop address book cannot be transferred to the Motorola T900 or Unication P900 devices; it is possible on the Motorola PageWriter2000X with TrueSync.

What is the maximum message length I can initiate from my device, or send in response to a message received on my device?
The maximum message length is 996 characters.

How can I tell when I have exceeded the maximum message length when sending a message from my device?
The device will simply not allow you to enter any more characters.

What happens to the rest of my message if I do exceed the maximum message length when sending messages from my device?
The entire message will go through when sent to an e-mail address, only the first 500 characters will be sent when sending messages to another wireless messaging device, any characters beyond 500 will not be sent.

What happens to my messages if my device is turned off, or if I am out of coverage range?
They will be stored in the system for 96 hours or until you return to coverage, whichever comes first. Once you return to coverage, or turn your device back on, your messages will automatically be forwarded to you.

Yes, via telephone through the Message Management retrieval.

Refer to the Forwarding Rules Engine of your e-mail service and then simply address the redirect or forwarding to your PIN@archwireless.net device address, see Forwarding Incoming E-Mail for more information.

No, currently there is not.

Many e-mail packages are able to filter which messages are forwarded to Forwarding Rules Engine of your e-mail service.

Only by performing a custom reply for each message received, replacement of the Canned Replies is not possible.

No, messages can only be sent to one address at a time though you can forward previously sent messages.

"MailBox" Icons

? = Unread Message
· = Read Message
checkmark = Successfully Sent Message
X = Failed Attempt of Sending Message
arrow = When flashing on an angle it indicates the Device is attempting a message transmission

To reply to these types of messages you will need to generate the reply as a new message following the "Send Message" steps.

You can access the Internet if you are using it to send and receive e-mail messages or text based queries to a database, but the device has no web browser.

Can I save a draft of messages if I am not ready to send it?
By pressing the "ENTER" key after typing a message and selecting the back option the device will hold the draft in the "Write Message" field until it is edited or deleted.

The button allows you to stop the beeping or vibrating midstream with out having to take the device off your belt.

No, your name only appears after the initial message is sent. When you reply to a message, your auto signature will not appear.

When I send a message from my Webster 100 device, or reply to a message, how does the recipient know that the message is from my device?
When you send messages from your Webster 100, your message includes your 10 digit phone number, PIN number or Arch Message Center Alias in the "FROM" field when the recipient receives your message.

  • If you have a Local or Personal Toll-Free Number the recipient sees: "Fr: 10-digit Phone Number" (i.e., Fr: 8665551212)
  • If you are using the 800-946-4646 with a PIN, the recipient sees: "Fr: PIN" (i.e., Fr: 1234567)
  • If you have an Arch Message Center Preferred Alias the recipient sees: "Fr: Preferred Alias" (i.e., Fr: YourName)
